The timeline for building your pool typically ranges from two to three months for standard designs. However, if your project includes more intricate features, such as acrylic windows or automatic pool covers, it may take longer to complete. We prioritize quality in every aspect of our work, ensuring that your pool is not only beautiful but also built to last. We appreciate your patience as we deliver the best results for your investment.
I need to renovate my pool, how much should I budget to spend?
For simple renovations, including resurfacing and retiling a pool with minor updates to drains and other components to bring your pool up to the latest safety standards, most projects are priced between $15,000-$35,000 depending on finishes selected and the size of the pool and/or spa. When updating the entire outdoor space, including the deck – you’ll likely end up between $35,000-$70,000, again depending on the finishes and upgrades selected. Larger projects, like adding a spa, modifying pool walls, or adding a water feature, will typically include all new finishes, a new deck, and upgrades to equipment. Typically these projects will start around $100,000.
What are some considerations I should take before renovating my pool?
Aside from aesthetic goals (which are also important to have in mind), you should consider the age of your pool, structural issues your pool may have, equipment needs, and safety. Older pools may have drains, equipment, or plumbing that are no longer compliant with the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Safety Act, a law adopted in December 2007 to prevent drowning and entrapment. Our sales and design team will bring these items to your attention, as well as inspecting your pool structure for any potential issues that may need to be addressed. A qualified contractor will find and address issues that may lead to leaks or faulty performance in the future, so it’s important to work with your contractor to make sure your renovation is not only meeting your pool goals, but is leaving the structure better than it was found for fewer issues in the future.
Do you help with material selections on my pool?
YES! We have a full service showroom (for clients only) in Jupiter, FL where our design team will meet with you to select your pool finishes. In addition to working closely with all pool tile manufacturers, we are an Elite Pebble Tec Builder, and can walk you through the best choices to meet both your aesthetic vision and the level of maintenance and longevity you’re looking to achieve. We are also available to assist with any design team you are working with, and can provide sample boards and product information as needed.
What should I consider to make my pool finishes last longer?
Proper installation of your finishes and the fire up process of the pool (according to the National Plasterers Council guidelines) ensures your pool starts off on the right foot. Maintaining proper water chemistry from that point forward is the key to preventing stains and ensuring your finishes last as long as possible. We offer free water testing at our retail store, and highly recommend bringing us your water as often as possible so issues with chemistry, which can be caused by weather, organic materials, water contaminants, and much more, are addressed early to prevent impact to your pool finishes.
Do you offer design services?
We do offer design services and 3D renderings for our clients. Upon initial consultation, we will discuss your project and what you are looking to build, and we will provide preliminary pricing and options for your new pool project. Once we’ve determined the scope of your project, we set up a design meeting and will provide 3D renderings prior to obtaining engineered plans for your new pool, spa, or water feature.
Do you handle plans and permitting?
Yes, our office obtains engineered plans and building permits. We have one full time team member who oversees all permitting and building inspections to expediate the process.
What do I need to do to prepare for the commencement of my new pool project?
To prepare for the excavation of your pool, there are a few things you may need to consider:
- Access: Unless we have included a small machine and bobcat shuttle in your pool contract, we will need approximately 10’ of clearance both horizontally and vertically. Any fences, trees, shrubs, or other items that are in the path we will use to bring the machine into your yard should be cleared prior to your excavation date. Shrubs that are cut down and can be run over are fine, but will not survive. If we are using someone else’s property to access your yard, we will need written permission from them prior to the date we are digging. Sod will also be damaged in the path of construction, and is the homeowner’s responsibility to replace.
- Any irrigation that runs in the area where the pool will be installed should be capped off prior to us digging. Pipes that remain in the ground at the pool area will be removed when we excavate. Irrigation installation and repairs are not included in our scope of work.
- The area where the pool and deck are going should be cleared and free of landscaping, unless removal is included in our contract. If you are removing trees, please have all roots removed, or discuss that with our team to ensure they can be removed with our equipment.
- It is also a good idea to remove any patio furniture or accessories near the construction area that you would like to keep clean. While we do our best to ensure a tidy worksite, we are building in the earth and dirt is a big part of our work!
Do you provide a daily schedule throughout construction?
With the nature of pool construction, we do most of our scheduling on a day-to-day basis, to accommodate weather, inspections, and availability of our specialized crews and materials. Because of that, we do not provide a daily or weekly schedule, but can project estimated timelines of completions, and our supervisors can keep you updated on stages throughout the building process.
Once we have excavated, installed forms and reinforcing steel, and have a gunite shell in the ground, we will begin working on backfilling, plumbing, tile and coping, deck installation, equipment sets, and the final stage – plastering your pool.
Throughout the construction process, you will be in touch with our job supervisor, but you can also reach our office during business hours at 561-746-4910 for the quickest response. The office will also be in touch with you as we schedule and complete inspections to keep you informed.
How do I schedule warranty repairs?
Our office will handle all manufacturer warranties for you, and any service needs during your warranty period can be scheduled through our office. We will provide your equipment manuals and paperwork during the hand over process.
